Joe Lolley has picked out his favourite moment from his time at Nottingham Forest – and he talks about it every single day!
The man who spent five years at the club has been speaking with the Football Friends podcast.
So, which game has Lolley picked out as his most memorable at Forest? Let’s take a closer look…
Joe Lolley picks out his favourite Nottingham Forest moment
Well, it won’t come as any surprise that Lolley has picked the famous 5-5 draw between Forest and Aston Villa as his memorable moment.
Lolley grew up as a fan of Villa and during the 5-5 draw in 2018, he stole the show on a famous night at Villa Park.
He scored a thunderbolt of a goal in the second half of the clash – and also helped himself to four assists!
Lolley has now been discussing his time with Forest and the game against Aston Villa is one that lives long in the memory.
He told the Football Friends podcast: “Yes, that’s probably my most memorable game. I grew up as a massive Villa fan, it’s not far from where I live and I grew up going to Villa Park most weeks, so I had family and friends there.
“The last time I’d played there I broke my foot in a game so I felt like that game gave me a bit of redemption to go and do something and enjoy the game more.

“A goal and four assists. I know there are not many people who can say they’ve done that in one game at Villa Park and it’s something that I still mention now to the players here every day.
“I think that game probably helped me get a new contract!”
Lolley was unplayable at times during 2018/19
The talented winger ultimately proved very good business for Forest, signing from Huddersfield for just £750,000.
Forest struck gold with the signing of Lolley and during 2018/19, he was considered one of the top performers in the Championship.
He scored 12 goals and claimed 11 assists across the campaign as Forest missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs.
It’s quite remarkable that Forest managed to keep hold of him at the end of that season but nonetheless, they did.
It’s no surprise that Lolley remembers the Villa game fondly and it’s a contest that lives firmly in the memory of the club’s supporters too.
