Nottingham Forest beat West Ham 2-0 on Saturday and after the game, some footage spotted Wayne Hennessey being a presence in the dressing room.

This video was shared on the club’s official X channel and captured Hennessey getting involved with the players.

So, what did Hennessey do after Forest claimed a huge three points? Let’s take a closer look…

What Wayne Hennessey did after Nottingham Forest victory

Well, it would appear as though Hennessey is still a big influence in the dressing room at Forest.

The goalkeeper hasn’t made an appearance for the Reds since the final day of the 2022/23 campaign but remains on the books.

Hennessey is probably considered the fourth-choice custodian at the moment, with Matz Sels, Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos ahead of him.

At 37-years-old that perhaps doesn’t faze the goalkeeper and clearly he is helping in other areas.

After last night’s game, Forest unleashed their tunnel cam on X and it showed Hennessey showcasing what a brilliant leader he is.

The veteran stood at the dressing room door and shook every single player’s hand, congratulating them on the victory.

It was a very classy touch and highlighted that he’s still an important figure behind the scenes.

The goalkeeper was signed as a backup option in the summer of 2022 and ultimately, he’s done fine when called upon.

Hennessey now has a part to play that doesn’t involve him strapping up his gloves.

The experience that Hennessey has makes him a valuable asset behind the scenes and the players all seemed receptive to him during the latest footage.

The Welsh international will be out of contract in the summer and in our view, a coaching role in some capacity wouldn’t be a bad move from a Forest perspective.
