Jamie Carragher has shared what he thinks people within football believe will happen to Nottingham Forest this season.

What Jamie Carragher believes people think will happen to Forest

Well, it would appear that people within the industry have told Carragher that a points deduction is looming large for Forest.

In fairness, that doesn’t feel like a ground-breaking piece of news – with Forest completely aware of what looks set to come.

Carragher was speaking about Forest at the end of last night’s game between Everton and Crystal Palace which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Carragher now believes that people inside the industry believe that Forest are definitely going to get a points deduction this season.

He told Monday Night Football: “The big thing for me is that I think Everton will get something back, it could be two or three points maximum but there is a feeling within football in the last couple of days, people we have spoken to, that Nottingham Forest fear they are getting points taken off them for the situation they find themselves, so Everton are in the same boat as them.

“Whether it’s exactly the same as them I don’t know. You get points back but you could get them taken off again. It’s not a good time to be an Evertonian right now.”

Forest have to focus on the football right now

Nuno Espirito Santo can’t afford to let a potential points deduction get in the way of his sole focus right now – winning football matches.

Forest beat West Ham 2-0 on Saturday to push further clear of the relegation zone but they will be aware of what might be about to come.

A points deduction could be seriously detrimental. Right now, any more than four would see Forest into the relegation zone – with Everton predicted to get some back by Carragher.

Forest can’t let this piece of business hang over them. The squad is largely good and the challenge is to get as far away from the bottom three as possible in the coming weeks.
