Goalkeeping expert Matt Pyzdrowski has explained how he thinks Nottingham Forest stopper Matt Turner will currently be feeling.

The comments have been made to The Athletic.

So, what has Pyzdrowski said about Forest goalkeeper Turner? Let’s take a closer look…

What Matt Pyzdrowski has said about Forest man Matt Turner

Well, it’s been a whirlwind season for Turner since his move to Forest from Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

Now, Matt Pyzdrowski has explained how he thinks the goalkeeper will be feeling.

Turner was initially handed the Forest gloves by Nuno Espirito Santo – but the head coach decided to sign Matz Sels in the January transfer window.

The Belgian will now be the club’s number one for the remainder of the season as Forest fight against relegation.

Pyzdrowski thinks that Turner will be gutted about losing his Forest place – but his character will ensure he doesn’t go too overboard.

He told The Athletic: “Turner is not the type of character who will be thrown off by this.

He showed that with his performance in the FA Cup. He is a resilient character and started late as a goalkeeper and has always had to prove himself.

“Turner has thrived in the underdog role. There is a way back for him but, at the same time, we will see if that is at Forest.”

In our view, the club just has to be prepared that the goalkeeping situation has been a complete and utter mess during 2023/24.

Turner has done some good things for Forest – for example, his claiming of crosses is brilliant – but the negatives massively outweigh the positives.

The American is a good character, he’s always got a smile on his face, but ultimately, Forest need a competent goalkeeper in the Premier League.

Turner has very rarely looked like one of those and Forest might have to be willing to cut their losses during the summer transfer window.
