Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga has explained a conversation he had with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United that really helped him.

The Forest winger has been speaking to The Times.

So, what has Elanga said about Ronaldo and the conversation that helps him to this day? Let’s take a closer look…

What Cristiano Ronaldo said to Anthony Elanga at Manchester United

Well, it wasn’t too long ago that Forest star Elanga was rubbing shoulders with the world-class Ronaldo at Old Trafford.

He chose to leave United in the summer with Forest giving him a platform to play first-team football on a regular basis.

It’s clear, however, that Elanga values his time at United and getting the chance to have conversations with the likes of Ronaldo.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game for Forest against United, Elanga has recited one particular discussion with Ronaldo.

He told The Times: “They are easily approachable, I enjoyed working with them and I think they enjoyed working with me.

“I’ve always been someone who wants to find that extra percentage to improve. Having Ronaldo come in, I tried to take some chapters out of his book and try to form it into mine.

“There was a time when I missed a penalty (against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup) and after that, he kept speaking to me and telling me, ‘It’s not the end of the world, I’ve missed loads before and you’ve shown character and professionalism to take one at your age’.

“I took that on board and it’s really helpful.”

Elanga has arguably been Forest signing of the season

Given that Murillo has also come to the club and done very well, it’s perhaps a toss-up between these two for the signing of the season.

Given how many goal contributions Elanga has, however, the 21-year-old would probably get the nod.

The player has scored five goals and claimed seven assists so far this season and that’s a pretty good return.

Elanga always craved game time and that was the main reason why he decided to depart Old Trafford.

Now, the winger will have his old club in his sights once again tomorrow night when Forest play United in the FA Cup.
