Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling have this morning discussed the situation surrounding Nottingham Forest and a possible points deduction.
The pair were speaking live on TalkSPORT this morning.
So, what have the respectable duo said about the Forest situation – following news that Everton have been given four of their 10 deducted points back? Let’s take a closer look…
Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist on Nottingham Forest situation
Well, it’s been a hot topic of discussion on a number of football shows since yesterday’s announcement.
Everton have gone back above Forest in the Premier League table after they were given four points back on appeal.
Now, Forest might have a rough idea of what to expect when their case is heard – with six points seemingly now a worst-case scenario.
Stelling and McCoist have discussed the situation this morning and they believe the whole thing is a mess.

Stelling said live on TalkSPORT (27/2 6:27am) “They’ve made such a hash of it so far haven’t they? You know by the fact that they’ve imposed such a humongous punishment really.
“They’ve just straight jacketed themselves haven’t they from now on?
“Even six points, if Forest are found guilty, they must know that the minimum they’re getting is six points.
“I don’t know (if that is the right number). It sounds a bit draconian but it’s now the standard they’ve set for an appeal is six points.
“It does sound a bit draconian to me, I just don’t know whether the punishment fits the crime.
“Everton say they’re satisfied with the outcome but they won’t be satisfied if they lose another six points. It’s just a mess.”
McCoist concurred with his presenting partner and things the whole situation just needs some clarity.
He said on the same show: “That’s the thing, nobody knows. It’s affecting everybody now.
“It’s not right the way it’s been handled.”
Stelling and McCoist have a point
It’s hard not to echo what the two have said live on the radio this morning – and the whole thing is a complete and utter mess.
At this stage, it does feel as though the whole thing is being made up as it goes along.
Forest face an anxious wait to discover their own fate and it’s a pretty nervous time for the fan base.
One saving grace, however, is that with Everton only getting six points deducted on this occasion, Forest might have an idea of how many to expect.
Respected sports lawyer Nick De Marco has been employed by Forest to fight their corner and hopefully, he can come up trumps for the club.
