‘Full of confidence’… Morgan Gibbs-White absolutely loves ‘top’ Nottingham Forest man

Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White heaped praise on Nuno Espirito Santo prior to yesterday’s game with Liverpool.

The 24-year-old was speaking to BBC Sport.

Well, it would appear as though Gibbs-White is a huge fan of Espirito Santo and he enjoys working for him.

Gibbs-White spent time playing under Espirito Santo at Wolves – although he did loan him out on two occasions.

When Espirito Santo left Wolves, Gibbs-White sent the head coach a classy message on Twitter and their relationship is good.

Ahead of yesterday’s game – a 1-0 defeat at home to Liverpool – Gibbs-White had praise for the Forest head coach.

He told BBC Sport: “I’ve known the manager for a long time now, since I was 16, and we’ve always had a great relationship.

“I’ve always absolutely loved learning underneath him. When I found out the news he was coming here I was super excited to work with him and for him again.

“He’s a top, top manager full of ideas and full of confidence. You can see that in the way we lay – but we just need to pick up points now.”

Gibbs-White and teammates must take responsibility

The 24-year-old is very much the playmaker in the current Forest setup and ultimately, he’s extremely important.

With Joe Worrall now departed, Gibbs-White is viewed as the vice-captain and despite his tender years, he’s a big influence.

Espirito Santo knows that he can trust the attacker and the Portuguese head coach has done lots of good since he came to the club.

Ultimately, however, the players – Gibbs-White included – must now take some responsibility and get some points on the board for Forest.

Espirito Santo has changed the system and Forest do look far more organised under him.

However, individual errors are still crippling Forest and the squad need to take a look in the mirror and start firing in the coming weeks.
