Paul Merson was left stunned by what Murillo did in the Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Luton Town.
The 55-year-old made the comments when covering the 1-1 draw for Sky Sports.
So, what did Paul Merson say about Nottingham Forest No.40 Murillo? Let’s take a look…
Paul Merson stunned by Murillo
Well, the Brazilian remarkably attempted to lob Thomas Kaminski in the 62nd minute of today’s relegation six-pointer from well inside his own half.
Murillo was desperately unlucky not to score as the Luton Town No.24 just about managed to get his glove to the effort.
After seeing the outrageous freekick, Merson said: “Murillo nearly scored one of the greatest goals in Premier League history.
“He’s kicked the ball about 70 yards and Kaminski has just managed to tip it over. Never seen anything like it.”

Murillo is yet to score for Nottingham Forest since arriving in a £15m deal from Corinthians back in August – despite a number of eye catching runs into the opposition box.
In 26 appearances for Nottingham Forest, the South American has provided one assist while picking up four yellow cards.
Nottingham Forest found a gem
How many defenders do you see try something like this, let alone come so close to pulling it off?
Murillo is undoubtedly a special player, and Nottingham Forest did incredibly well to sign the man from São Paulo for just £15m.

In this day and age, we are seeing central defenders move for significant fees, such as Liverpool’s £75m signing of Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s £80m deal for Harry Maguire.
The Brazilian has even been tipped to play for Manchester City one day – while Atletico Madrid are believed to be genuinely interested in signing him.
Therefore, Nottingham Forest could potentially make a massive profit on Murillo one day – if he continues to catch the eye.
