Nottingham Forest allowed Jesse Lingard to leave the City Ground in the summer – and it would appear he’s now struggling to settle with FC Seoul.
After yesterday’s 2-0 win over Jeju, head coach Kim Gi-dong took aim at Lingard after a below-par performance from the bench.
That might not have come as too much of a surprise to Forest supporters and we’ve had a look at what his new head coach said about Lingard.
What Kim Ge-dong said about departed Forest player Lingard
Well, it would appear that the South Korean head coach has been left unimpressed with the start that Lingard has made.
The player only scored twice for Forest during his time at the City Ground and after the World Cup, he did struggle for game time.
Former Forest man Lingard once again started the game on the bench and after being introduced, Ge-dong wasn’t impressed.

After the game, he said: “Even though he came on as a substitute, he didn’t work hard and avoided tussle. The name value has no meaning on the pitch. I will him this exactly.”
Lingard career shouldn’t have gone in this direction
When Lingard went to West Ham he seemed to find comfort from playing football again. His form with the Hammers was magnificent and it looked as though there would be life after Manchester United.
In truth, it looks like a decent addition when Forest managed to take Lingard on a one-year deal. Things never really materialised though and it always felt obvious that he’d not had much of a pre-season.
So far in Seoul he’s made just three appearances from the bench – and his coach already isn’t satisfied. Lingard shouldn’t be playing in the K-League at 31-years-old and it’s sad that the former Forest man hasn’t been able to get something in England.
