Roy Keane has been predicting whether Nottingham Forest will be relegated this season. The Reds were deducted four points earlier this week for breaching financial fair play regulations.
It’s a real hammer blow for Forest that the total points deducted have seen the team drop into the relegation zone. Now, Forest are a point and a place below Luton Town in 18th place.
Forest played the Hatters last weekend and drew 1-1 with Luton scoring in the 89th minute to salvage a point. Now, it does feel like a big point for Forest, however, following the four-point loss.
Keane played for Forest for three years from 1990 to 1993. Forest were relegated from the Premier League just prior to his departure and has been discussing whether the same fate will be on the cards this season.
Roy Keane predicts whether Nottingham Forest will remain in the Premier League
Well, it’s been a hot topic of discussion among several pundits this week over whether or not Forest can remain in the Premier League. Now, Keane has had his say.
The Reds are still in a fanciful position and when the football returns following the international break, Forest do have more favourable fixtures than Luton in the fight for survival.
It’s fair to say that Keane isn’t overly concerned just yet either. He was quizzed this week on the survival chances of Forest and he still thinks the Reds will be just fine.

He told the Stick to Football podcast: “I still think they will be okay this season. I still think they will stay up.”
Forest have to start winning football matches
Ultimately, it’s time for the talking to stop and Forest to start taking some responsibility out on the pitch. With the Reds now in the relegation zone, Nuno Espirito Santo can’t continue overseeing poor performances.
Keane is probably right to back Forest in their quest against survival. The fixtures are pretty kind to the Reds and the ball is now firmly in the court of the players.
Espirito Santo started well when he first came into the football club. He oversaw brilliant wins over Newcastle and Manchester United and Forest need more of those performances during the final nine matches.
