Nottingham Forest legend Garry Birtles has expressed sympathy with one of the current players who should be furious with his teammates.
The Reds failed to put more daylight between them and the bottom three on Saturday when they drew 2-2 with Wolves at the City Ground.
If Luton beat Brentford on Saturday they will leapfrog Forest and plunge the Reds into the bottom three before Sunday’s game against Everton.
Forest scored through Morgan Gibbs-White and Danilo at the weekend but it wasn’t enough, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice for Wolves.
Now, Birtles has said he felt some sympathy with one Forest player at the weekend – and he should be fuming with his teammates.

Garry Birtles feels so sorry for Nottingham Forest player Chris Wood
Based on what Birtles has claimed, he believes Wood should have more goals were it not for some poor play from some of his teammates.
The striker has 13 goals in all competitions this season and without the goals, we dread to think where Forest would be.
Wood has been a brilliant addition to the squad this season and the £15 million paid to Newcastle now feels like an absolute steal.
Birtles thinks he could have had more goals had his teammates been better at certain moments in certain games.
He’s now explained what he’d have been doing had service been lacking when he was playing as a striker for the Reds.
He told the Forest Focus podcast: “I feel so sorry for Chris Wood.
“He makes his run as a striker and then they delay, they check back, they take another touch and it’s so annoying as a striker when you see your teammates do that.
“I’d be going mad at them.”
Scoring goals isn’t the issue for Forest – something else is
Forest don’t really have too much of an issue finding the net, it’s ensuring they stay out at the other end that has proved extremely problematic.
The Reds have conceded 22 goals from set pieces this season and with Everton among the best at those situations, Saturday looks terrifying.
However, Wood has showcased that he can step up and become the number one striker at Forest, producing the goods with Taiwo Awoniyi injured.
The 32-year-old will hope to get more goals before the season is out and as Birtles says, if his teammates create chances for him, he can stick them away.
Forest need to work as a team to get out of this mess and with Wood spearheading the attack the hope will be that he can keep finding the way to the goal.
