Nottingham Forest fans are all saying the same thing about a huge announcement that the club have made this week.

The Reds are one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League and the situation is becoming pretty perilous.

Forest go to Goodison Park to face Everton this weekend. The Toffees have just been smacked 6-0 away at Chelsea and with that in mind, there is a lack of confidence there.

The Reds need their fans united at this moment in time and as a result, it’s quite remarkable that the club have chosen this week to unsettle the fan base.

Forest have to take something from the game at Everton it would seem and losing doesn’t feel like an option.

Now, given this news, it will be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like coming from the away end this weekend.

So, what announcement has been getting Forest fans upset this week ahead of the trip to Everton? Let’s take a closer look…

Nottingham Forest fans react to huge club announcement

Well, in a time of need for a lot of people, Forest have made an announcement that is pretty tone deaf to say the very least.

Forest have confirmed their prices for the new season tickets this week – and they haven’t gone down well at all.

After putting the prices up ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Forest have now increased the prices further ahead of next season.

It now means that in a little over a year, the prices have increased by almost 50% and with society the way it is right now, that’s not a good look from Forest.

Forza Garibaldi have released a statement siding with the supporters and they have the fans’ back.

Yesterday, John Percy slammed the decision made by Forest. He’s urged the club to make a rethink on this pretty quickly.

Fans have taken to X to vent their frustrations and you can see the comments from supporters below…

Forest score corporate own goal with season ticket prices

In our view, this is a disgrace and the club has missed a massive opportunity to unite the fan base.

Had Forest not chosen to take Divock Origi on loan, they might have been able to use the funds to freeze the ticket prices.

Naturally, football clubs – especially ones at the top level – have to make money. However, it feels like Forest have royally let the fans down here.

Forest isn’t just a club steeped in history and one that belongs at the top table but it’s a cornerstone of the community in Nottingham.

Right now, Nottingham is considered the 11th most deprived area in the country and that makes these prices pretty laughable.

Forest chairman Tom Cartledge is a lifelong fan and he must now be regretting being involved in coming up with these figures for new season cards.

However, we can’t see Forest making a business decision with their heart here. It feels like the prices are here to stay and the atmosphere on Trentside is now under serious threat.
