Jim White has explained what he’s been told about a conversation between Mark Clattenburg and the PGMOL ahead of Nottingham Forest playing Everton.
The Reds went to Goodison Park for a massive Premier League fixture in the grand scheme of things. Everton are now practically safe after the 2-0 win, with Forest teetering on the brink.
Nuno Espirito Santo saw his side robbed against Everton. No fewer than three penalty appeals fell on deaf ears, with Anthony Taylor not being sent to the screen by Stuart Attwell for any of the three incidents.
Forest lost thanks to goals from Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil, although it was the performance of the match officials that once again caught the headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

Jim White shares what Forest did before playing Everton
Well, White is typically a man in the know when it comes to football and he certainly has an extensive book of contacts.
Now, he’s explained what he’s been told happened before Forest played Everton with regards to Attwell being named as the VAR for the game.
White was on TalkSPORT this morning to discuss the weekend’s incident ahead of his show and he had some exclusive news for Jeff Stelling on the Breakfast Show.
The journalist said: “It is our understanding before the game Mark Clattenburg on behalf of Forest was in touch with the PGMOL and Howard Webb regarding Stuart Attwell being on VAR duty.
“There was a discussion around Stuart Atwell being a Luton fan, and this is vitally important.
“Clattenburg and Forest did not ask for Attwell to be removed from the fixture and they had no issue at the time. And the game is played. And we know what happened in the game.”
What is the point of Mark Clattenburg at Forest?
This is nothing against Clattenburg but clearly having him on board is not helping Forest one bit at the moment.
If anything, Forest have had more poor decisions since he came to the club than before Evangelos Marinakis chose to bring him to the City Ground.
Clattenburg has clearly riled some people behind the scenes at the PGMOL and it’s an experiment that doesn’t seem to be working for Forest.
Nobody felt that bringing the former FIFA referee to the club would instantly get Forest some decisions but if anything it’s gone the other way.
The Reds were poor yesterday but that doesn’t escape from the fact that Forest were absolutely robbed yesterday.
The conundrum for Marinakis now is whether or not this experiment has run its course and it remains to be seen what Clattenburg is actually bringing more negative press to Forest than positive.
