Tim Sherwood felt that one Nottingham Forest player did really well during Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City.

The Reds battled hard but went down 2-0 to the reigning champions as the club’s relegation worries remained.

Forest need to make sure they claim a couple of wins to be absolutely certain of survival in their final three matches.

The Reds go to Sheffield United on Saturday and that is a game that Forest really have to believe they can win.

Despite defeat last time out, there were some positive performances – with Sherwood praising one player during the game.

Tim Sherwood praises Nottingham Forest star Murillo

Rather intriguingly, praise from Sherwood for Forest defender Murillo came after Erling Haaland scored City’s second of the afternoon.

Murillo was feeling the effects of a robust tackle that he made during that moment but he still almost managed to stop the goal.

Sherwood felt that one aspect of trying to stop Haaland from scoring was particularly good and he delivered some praise to the Forest man.

He told Premier League Productions: “If Murillo let him inside it’s an easier finish for him, the keeper has no chance, at least there he’s sent him down the outside.

“It should give the goalkeeper a better angle to save it but Haaland gives him no chance as he hits it so early with his right foot.”

Murillo is going straight to the top

The 22-year-old defender was actually courted by City before he signed for Forest and perhaps they may move for him once again.

However, he won’t be coming cheap to any club that wants to land him now, with Forest set to make a huge profit on the defender.

Murillo has been a magnificent signing for Forest this season and it will be seriously challenging to keep hold of him beyond this season.

The challenge for Forest, if Murillo does leave, is going to be finding an adequate replacement.

To sign Murillo, the recruitment team pulled out a gem and hopefully, they have another man on the list ready to come in should the left-footed player leave the summer.
