Ola Aina has now made an admission ahead of the Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The Nigeria international is expected to make his 20th Premier League start of the season at the City Ground when Mauricio Pochettino’s side arrive – on a day where the Garibaldi could secure survival.

Ahead of the clash against his old side, Nottingham Forest No.43 Ola Aina has now made a claim which he says hopes doesn’t land him in any trouble…

What Ola Aina said ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea

The Chelsea academy graduate spoke to BBC East Midlands ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea, and revealed that he remains a huge fan of the Blues.

Aina said: “I don’t know if this is going to get me in trouble, but I am a Chelsea fan. It’s a fixture I’ve been looking forward to and I’m excited to be involved in it to see what happens.”

The Londoner made six appearances for Chelsea before departing Stamford Bridge for Torino in 2019.

It came after Aina amassed 14 appearances for Chelsea’s U18 side, 20 appearances in the U19 ranks and then a whopping 52 appearances for the U21s, before ultimately deciding to pursue senior football elsewhere.

It has proven to be a wise decision for the man from Southwark, who is now impressing on a regular basis in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, while he also reached the Africa Cup of Nations final with Nigeria in February.

Nottingham Forest No.43 could be in for a tough evening

Aina is expected to start at left-back once again when Chelsea arrive at the City Ground, meaning he is likely to come up against Cole Palmer.

The England international has enjoyed a truly remarkable season, scoring 26 goals while also providing 13 assists in 45 appearances for the Blues, mainly when cutting inside from the right flank on his stronger left foot.

If Luton defeat West Ham in the 3pm kick-off, Nottingham Forest will need a win to all-but secure survival, and avoid a tense affair against Burnley on the final day.

In that respect, let’s hope Aina can snuff out Chelsea’s star man – if he can achieve that, Nottingham Forest have a great chance of recording a positive result.
