Paul Merson has now shared his prediction for the Premier League clash between Burnley and Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Barring a freakish swing of 12 goals between the Garibaldi and Luton Town this weekend, Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side can play with freedom, safe in the knowledge that Premier League football is effectively secured for next season.
That should provide reason for a party atmosphere in the away end at Turf Moor, and Paul Merson has now shared how he thinks Nottingham Forest will fare against Vincent Kompany’s Clarets on Sunday…
What Paul Merson expects to happen at Turf Moor
Interestingly, the 56-year-old came close to successfully predicting last week’s result against Chelsea, calling a 2-2 draw, which looked on until Nicolas Jackson popped up with a winner in the 82nd minute.
Now, Merson has predicted yet another 2-2 draw.
The Sky Sports pundit wrote for Sportskeeda: “It’s all over for Luton Town unless they rack up a score against Fulham, so I think this will be a good, open game of football as there’s nothing to play for. Both team will want to finish on a high and I feel for Burnley as they’ve been bang unlucky in front of goal.
“The lack of a certified goalscorer has made all the difference for them, but if you’re a club like Burnley, it’s really hard to go into the market and get a top, top striker. 2-2.”

If this prediction comes true, it would mean the Reds will avoid defeat to Burnley this season, having drawn the reverse fixture at the City Ground by a 1-1 scoreline back in September.
Nottingham Forest could wave farewell to quartet
With survival all but secured, Nuno might use this game to give some players a send off, amid a report from the Telegraph which claims that four are expected to leave this summer.
It is said that Felipe, Wayne Hennessey, Harry Arter and Cheikhou Kouyate will be allowed to depart when their contracts expire, so perhaps the Portuguese tactician will allow some of them a farewell appearance in Sunday’s dead rubber affair at Turf Moor.

Whatever happens, Nottingham Forest fans are surely feeling relieved not to be heading into this clash needing points to survive – that would not have made for a fun afternoon, to say the very least.
