Stuart Broad has shared why he’s had one Nottingham Forest player in his Fantasy Team all season – but it’s backfired.

The retired England cricketer is now a regular at the City Ground as he winds down following a brilliant career in test cricket.

Broad can often be found on the banks of the River Trent and it seems he’s been taking part in Fantasy Football too.

Now, he’s shared why he’s had one Nottingham Forest star in his team all season but in comical fashion it’s not gone well for him.

Stuart Broad shares which Forest player he’s had in his Fantasy Team all season

Everyone loves a game of Fantasy Football and if you’re like us, you’d have had a lot of Reds in your team!

For Broad, however, he’s had Morgan Gibbs-White in his team all season – purely because he takes penalties.

Yesterday, it came to light that Forest were the only team in the Premier League to not be awarded a penalty on-field by a referee.

The only one that Forest were given all season came against Brighton after a VAR check – with Gibbs-White tucking it away.

Broad has made light of this situation and reiterated that he does also think that Gibbs-White is quality and that’s another reason for sticking him in his team.

Forest will hope to keep Gibbs-White this summer

West Ham and Tottenham are two of the clubs keen to land Gibbs-White when the transfer window opens.

The clubs who fancy the Forest man will have to dig deep though – with Forest likely to command a significant profit on the player.

At 24-years-old – and English – Forest will be able to command top whack for a player who registered 10 assists last season.

Broad is right as a Forest fan to say that Gibbs-White is quality and there won’t be many ready to disagree with that notion.

With a few more penalties this season, the Forest man might have got a few more goals to his name.

Hopefully, next season is the one where he can really kick on in terms of goals scored and if that’s with Forest, it would make the fan base very happy indeed.
