Nottingham Forest are now eyeing a potential summer move for a forward who is commanding £27m from his current club.
The summer transfer window is going to provide an interesting first couple of weeks for Forest with the club under pressure to sell.
Forest are one of the Premier League sides who are going to need to offload players to meet the PSR deadline on June 30.
However, that is not to say the Reds will not be looking to bring in players over the coming months following their narrow escape from relegation.
Despite Chris Wood‘s impressive campaign up top for Forest, it seems Evangelos Marinakis is keen to bring in another striker this summer.
Forest have already made an attempt to land free agent Che Adams ahead of the window even opening and it seems the Scotland international is not the only target on their radar.

Forest eyeing move for forward likened to Thomas Muller
Forest have already received interest from West Ham in Taiwo Awoniyi, but it seems that interest has now passed.
Improvement up top is seemingly wanted at the City Ground going into the new campaign given their interest in the free agent Adams.
But attention may now be switching to a big money forward who has been likened to Thomas Muller by journalist Christian Falk.

According to SportBild [Wed 11 June, page 21], Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs who have Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier on their radar.
The 21-year-old has a €32.5m (£27m) release clause in his contract which is to reduce by €2.5m per year from 2025.
However, Forest are not the only side and not even the only side from the Premier League who are showing an interest in Beier.
The newly-crowned Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen, as well as Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford have all been credited with an interest.
Maximilian Beier could offer Forest Chris Wood alternative
In his 33 Bundesliga appearances last season, Beier was able to provide a return of 16 goals and three assists.
This is a forward who could offer Forest something slightly different to Wood who is “very, very fast”, according to Falk.
| 23/24 (per 90) | Maximilian Beier | Chris Wood |
| Progressive distance (yards) | 109.6 | 47.2 |
| Progressive receptions | 8.33 | 3.78 |
| Shot-creating actions | 2.83 | 2.19 |

At £27m, this may well be a deal which Forest are only able to pursue after offloading some players and it will be interesting to see how his Euro 2024 pans out with a number of clubs already credited with interest.
