Nottingham Forest have now discovered how much they will have to pay in order to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.
The centre-back has been linked with a move to the City Ground over the weekend as Forest step up their recruitment drive.
Milenkovic went to Euro 2024 with Serbia and played all three of his country’s group games before they were dumped out of the competition.
The Reds are in the market for a new central defender after allowing Moussa Niakhate to join Lyon to help the club comply with PSR.
Milenkovic looks to be the man tasked with coming in at Forest and helping a team that conceded a number of goals from set pieces last season.

Nottingham Forest told how much they will have to pay for Nikola Milenkovic
The Reds are appearing to get closer towards a deal for the Serbia international.
According to Napoli Magazine, Fiorentina are keen to recoup £20 million for their star defender this summer.
In good news for Forest, however, it’s claimed that the club are keen to recoup funds and would like Milenkovic off the wage bill.
At 26-years-old the defender would be a nice fit in the Forest dressing room and he’d have the potential to star for the club for many years.
Forest need a partner for Murillo at the back and Milenkovic looks like the type of player who could slot right in.
He’s played 264 times for Fiorentina and helped them to two Conference League finals in successive seasons.
In 2018, ESPN journalist Dejan Stankovic said that Milenkovic was ‘fearless’ as he discussed other Premier League clubs chasing him.
Milenkovic would be statement signing for Forest
With quality over quantity the order of the day for Forest this summer, Milenkovic feels like he would be a very useful signing.
Espirito Santo will want to shore up his rearguard and he will want a centre-back with vast experience adding to his squad.
Milenkovic is in his prime yet already has lots of football to his name – making 57 appearances for Serbia too.
In the grand scheme of things, £20 million doesn’t feel like a lot and hopefully Forest can still get this deal over the line.
