Nottingham Forest were trying desperately to offload some players ahead of the last PSR deadline which all Premier League must comply with.
The Reds left it late in the day to meet the requirements which should enable them to avoid a points deduction next season.
Moussa Niakhate was allowed to join Lyon for £27 million at the end of last month – with Orel Mangala also completing a permanent move to the Ligue 1 outfit.
Forest kicked off their pre-season campaign on Saturday by thrashing Chesterfield 3-0 and afterwards, Nuno Espirito Santo was quizzed on the financial fair play situation.

Nuno Espirito Santo delivers exciting PSR update
When speaking to Colin Fray after the 3-0 win on Saturday, Espirito Santo appeared to have a bit of a glint in his eye.
Clearly, he’s looking forward to working with his group from the off this season – instead of having to pick up the pieces of a poor start under Steve Cooper last term.
Fitness levels and match practice will be the order of the day but he was also quizzed on the situation regarding PSR – and it sounds like good news.
He told Colin Fray in his post-match press conference: “The club did well, we don’t have to worry about that issue anymore.”
Forest must switch gears in the transfer market
It’s a case of so far so good when it comes to new recruits at the City Ground.
Elliot Anderson has joined for around £15 million with a number of add-ons included in the deal for Newcastle.
Carlos Miguel, a 6ft 8in goalkeeper, has also checked in from Corinthians and played against Chesterfield at the weekend.
Another player added to the ranks was Eric da Silva Moreira and it will be interesting to see how the youngster performs at Forest.
A switch in gears for players with a different profile is now an absolute must for Forest.
The club has to learn from their erratic ways in the transfer market and with a third year in the Premier League on the horizon, things have to settle down.
Espirito Santo likes to work with a smaller squad and hopefully, some work can be done before the campaign gets underway.
It’s such a relief that a points deduction looks out of the question now and Forest must try to do better in the top-flight next season.
