Nottingham Forest completed the signing of Elliot Anderson earlier this summer as the club bolstered their midfield options.
Anderson signed for the club for a fee thought to be around £15 million – although some reports claimed it was considerably more than that.
The City Ground is the place where the 21-year-old feels he can take his career to the next level and the transfer came out of the blue a little bit.
Anderson is busy working hard in Spain as he tries to get himself a place in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team for the new season.
Forest fans might be wondering where Anderson will get the nod to play under the head coach and now he’s confessed where he’d like to play.

Elliot Anderson shares where he’d like to play for Forest
The youngster was nicknamed ‘The Geordie Maradona’ by Newcastle fans and they are disappointed that he’s left.
Forest did a bit of a deal with Newcastle to allow both clubs to meet the PSR threshold. The Reds got Anderson and the Magpies took Odysseas Vlachodimos.
It’s a bit of a mystery trying to suss out where Anderson will play, however, and now he’s shared where he’d like to play for the Reds.
He told The Sun (Print Edition; page 58): “At Newcastle, I was in and out of the team.
“I just want to show everyone what I can do, hopefully play week in, week out and really improve my game.
“I can play as a No8, No10, left-wing, but hopefully, I can pin down a midfield position and provide some creativity and goals.”
Anderson will face fight for midfield spot
The midfield area is probably one position on the pitch where Forest are well-stocked going into the new season.
Ibrahim Sangare, Danilo, Nicolas Dominguez and Ryan Yates are all at the club and adding Anderson to that creates quite the battle.
Still, Anderson probably does offer something a little bit different to those players and he will fancy adding some creativity and guile to the ranks.
It’s quite intriguing that Anderson has come to Forest for regular game time and clearly he thinks he will be getting that under Espirito Santo.
Anderson could prove to be a very useful signing if he gets in the team and hits the ground running during the 2024/25 campaign.
He fits the profile of what Forest are looking for this summer in the way of signings and it will be fascinating to see where he does feature for the Reds.
