Nottingham Forest beat off a host of other clubs to sign Nikola Milenkovic last week and the player is now with his new teammates in Spain.
A centre-back was among the list of transfer targets and Forest swooped after selling Moussa Niakhate to Lyon for £27 million.
Milenkovic has been with Fiorentina for seven years and he’s wracked up 264 appearances for the club, helping them reach two European finals.
Now, he will be trying to do his level best to get Forest firing up the Premier League next season as they look to build on 16th and 17th place finishes.
It would appear that the signing of Milenkovic is a good one and one journalist thinks Forest might have hit the jackpot.

What Ben Jacobs said about Nikola Milenkovic signing for Forest
This transfer has caught the eye, not least because other clubs were keen to sign the Fiorentina star before he chose to come to Forest.
Jacobs has delivered some insight into the deal struck by Forest and he believes that the club have done some good business with this one.
He told Forest Fan TV: “One thing that is for sure is that this is a player who Forest are really excited about. He’s cost £12 million and that feels like a steal for the Serbia centre-back. It’s a five-year contract and he complements Murillo perfectly.
“He’s tremendous in the air so he’s useful in both boxes but he’s also quite deft with his feet and it’s very rare – it’s very modern – but it’s very rare to have a centre-back who is big, physical and at the same time is ball-playing. Everything I’ve seen about him suggests that he should take easily and quickly to the Premier League, so this should be a very positive signing.”
What has been said about Nikola Milenkovic
Well, everything you read seems to point towards Jacobs having a fair point about the quality of the player that has been signed.
TNT Sports commentator took to X to suggest that he was surprised Forest have managed to snare Milenkovic for such a small fee – and he watches Serie A for work on a regular basis.
When he was much younger, Milenkovic was compared to the Serbian legend Nemanja Vidic too and that is quite a comparison.
The former Manchester United star won the lot at Old Trafford and Milenkovic is busy trying to follow in his footsteps.
Forest look to have got themselves a solid deal with this one and hopefully, he can star at the City Ground during his five-year contract.
