Nottingham Forest have been linked with a wealth of players this summer as the club tries to kick on in the Premier League this season.
So far, five new additions have arrived, with one of them – Marko Stamenic – already joining Olympiacos on a season-long loan.
More new players will be sought before the season gets underway and Forest would still like to sign a winger and a striker before the big kick-off.
One player linked to the club over the weekend was Marseille forward Ismaila Sarr.
He is a player who can play in both of the positions that Forest want to strengthen in – but the fan base would be wise to curb any enthusiasm over this deal.

Nottingham Forest not in the race to sign Ismaila Sarr
It would appear as though this report from the weekend doesn’t have a deal of substance to it after all.
The Reds were thought to be in a battle with Crystal Palace but it would appear as though they’re far more interested in Sarr than Forest.
Journalist Ben Jacobs told Forest Fan TV: “At the moment, I don’t think so. As far as I’m aware this is a player that Nottingham Forest looked at some time ago and that’s maybe what is creating the same type of rumour right now.
“My understanding with Ismaila Sarr is that Crystal Palace are the ones to watch. From Marseille’s point of view, they are willing to have a conversation.
“Sarr only joined Marseille from Watford last summer and he did okay, he got four or five goals but Palace much more so than Forest have liked Sarr since he was back in France before and they feel that now is the time to move.
“If he does return to England it’s more likely to be with Palace than Forest at the moment.”
Sarr was raved about by Garth Crooks when he was last in England and got called ‘outstanding’ for his efforts during a Watford win.
Forest wise to avoid Sarr signing this summer
The Reds have done some decent business so far during the transfer window and it does feel as though there is a shift in strategy.
What Forest don’t want to do is fall back into their old ways and we just feel the signing of Sarr wouldn’t quite hit the spot.
Once again he would represent another right-footed winger and he doesn’t really feel like an upgrade on Callum Hudson-Odoi or Anthony Elanga.
Sarr only managed to find the net five times last season and that in itself will fail to really excite the supporters as they await new signings.
The 26-year-old is at a nice age but it seems somewhat odd that Marseille want to shift him on after a single season in France.
For the money it would take to sign Sarr other options are likely out there and these comments from Jacobs have to be seen as being positive.
