Sheffield United want player who has never played competitive football for Nottingham Forest

Graeme Bailey believes that one Nottingham Forest player is now in the sights of Sheffield United – and it’s not Joe Worrall.

The Reds captain is a star who has been linked with a move to Bramall Lane in the past but that appears to have gone quiet now.

United are bolstering their squad ahead of another crack at the Championship following their relegation last season.

The Reds survived relegation and they’re now in the process of shaping Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad to try and enjoy a comfier ride in the top-flight.

Although new signings are still on the horizon, plenty of players will be shipped out of the club either on loan or in permanent deals.

Sheffield United want Nottingham Forest player Josh Bowler

This comes courtesy of Graeme Bailey who has exclusively revealed to Nottingham Forest News that Bowler is of interest to Sheffield United.

The 25-year-old has now been seen in a red shirt for Forest and scored during a recent 3-0 win over Chesterfield in pre-season.

He hasn’t played for the club in a competitive fixture though and has spent time on loan with Olympiacos, Blackpool and Cardiff since signing for Forest.

Now, Bowler will surely be heading out of the City Ground and it’s been explained to us that a loan deal is more likely for United than a permanent one.

The tricky winger has an abundance of experience in the Championship and has 25 goal contributions to his name in 134 appearances.

Bowler a victim of Forest success

It always felt as if Bowler was a signing tailor-made for Forest if they were relegated from the Premier League after one season.

Much like Jonathan Panzo, Bowler finds himself one of the victims of the Forest team managing to stay in the Premier League.

It’s highly unlikely that Forest would register Bowler in their 25-man squad and as a result, it feels almost certain that he will leave.

Bramall Lane would be an attractive destination. They’ve added quality players like Callum O’Hare and Keiffer Moore to their squad and should do well next season.

Bowler has done little wrong at Forest and hopefully, he can find himself a club where he play regularly and start reviving his career somewhat.
