Nottingham Forest player signs new deal until 2028

It has been a busy few weeks for Forest who have certainly operated well in the transfer window but they have finally concluded some in-house business.

There are a number of players who are now playing into the final 12 months of their contract as a Forest player.

However, the Reds have just made sure at least one of these players will be sticking around for another four years.

According to The Athletic, Ryan Yates has now just inked a neal deal at the City Ground to extend his stay until 2028.

The midfielder was set to see his contract run out next summer, but he has now signed a new and improved deal.

Yates played a huge role in Forest’s 2023/24 campaign having captained the side as he made 35 appearances in the Premier League alone.

Having come through the ranks at the City Ground, Yates also provides Nuno with a homegrown member of the squad which it crucial when looking to abide by the regulations in place in the Premier League.

What Gary Brazil previously said about Ryan Yates

Yates has established himself as a really important member to the Forest squad and that can be seen on a matchday.

The 26-year-old is the player who sets the tempo in the middle of the park and often finds himself mastering the dark arts.

As an academy product, Yates knows all too well just how important it is to show the fans 100% on a matchday, but former Forest academy chief Gary Brazil also hailed his off-the-field traits.

“Talent is lovely but character draws the most out of that talent. Ryan personifies all the traits required to realise all of his potential. (He’s a) special person,” he previously told The Athletic.

Here’s to four more years of Yates.
