Nottingham Forest have now seen potential signing number six slip from their grasp with a new contract set to be signed.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side will now be heading back to England following their week in the Spanish sun.
It proved to be a worthwhile pre-season trip to the continent with Forest playing three friendly games across seven days.
In the transfer market, Evangelos Marinakis has been working hard to ensure Nuno has what he needs to avoid another relegation battle this season.
Five new faces have already walked through the doors at the City Ground but Forest are showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
However, it has now been revealed that one of the summer targets may now be off the table as he looks set to ink a new deal with his current club.

Nottingham Forest summer target set to sign new deal
The summer transfer window has proved a positive one so far for the Reds with some exciting additions already through the door.
Perhaps most impressive is how early Forest were able to get these deals concluded so they could all feature in the pre-season trip to Spain.
This has allowed the likes of Elliot Anderson to bond with his new teammates and it has shown on the pitch with the midfielder seriously impressing.
However, it now looks like the Reds are going to have to scrap one of their transfer targets following an update from Fabrizio Romano.

Taking to X, Romano has now claimed Aston Villa set to extend Lamare Bogarde’s deal at the club after rejecting an approach from Forest.
The player is still said to have a lot of interest coming his way with clubs still looking to bring him in for the new season.
But any move for the 20-year-old is now going to have to be made on loan with Villa keen to secure his long-term future.
Forest set to miss out on big talent
Earlier in the summer, Forest are believed to have put forward a £4m proposal to Villa for the signing of Bogarde.
Although he is just 20 and has not played a minute of Premier League football, he has already had some big praise from some in the game.
Former player and manager Joey Barton hailed the midfielder having managed the Villa prospect with Bristol Rovers.
“For me, if you watch Lamare he does a bit of everything. He is another young player, but another with enormous potential,” Barton told the media last year.
Forest may be missing out on a player with a bright future but it will be on to the next one for Marinakis.
