Nottingham Forest will forever be indebted to Steve Cooper for his promotion exploits but now he’s a rival in the transfer market.
Both of the East Midlands clubs who operate in the Premier League are bidding to complete their squads ahead of the big kick-off.
Forest are set to add Jota Silva to their squad with the Portuguese winger the next player to sign for the club.
Others will likely arrive too with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to bolster his squad even further ahead of the opening game against Bournemouth.
With Silva on the plane jetting into Nottingham, news has emerged of another player on the radar of the Reds before the season starts.

Nottingham Forest have Leicester-linked player on trial
It was claimed earlier this week that Gambian under-20 international Lamin Sillah was on trial with Forest.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has not only confirmed this news but he’s also claimed Leicester are monitoring things closely.
Sillah is keen to embark on a European adventure and currently plays for Steve Biko FC.
He is represented by Cherno Samba and Sascha Empacher – with fans of the Championship Manager series likely to be familiar with the former.
Sillah enjoyed a quality campaign last season, scoring 14 goals and claiming three assists from his position on the left wing.
Sillah is now looking to get hooked up with a club in Europe and England is his first port of call with Forest having him on trial.
Forest strategy looks positive this summer
The Reds are trying to be savvy in the transfer market this time around having been pretty erratic in the other windows since promotion.
Now, it would appear that the Reds aren’t just focused on strengthening the senior ranks with the academy also recruiting players.
Sillah looks like a decent player and right now the first-team are on the lookout for new attacking players.
The Gambian prospect will have to do well to win a contract at Forest but with Leicester looking to sneak in, perhaps the Reds would be wise to just offer him something anyway.
