Nottingham Forest signed Jota Silva this morning and now some new information on the finances of the deal have come to light.
The Reds moved quickly to sign the 25-year-old from Vitoria Guimaraes and he signed for the club after a fruitful 2023/24 campaign.
Silva scored 15 goals and claimed seven assists as Vitoria qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
After signing for Forest, Silva received praise from Tiago Silva and Cafu on Instagram and it would appear the Reds might have got themselves a gem.
So, what about the finances of the deal? Forest look to have been savvy in the transfer market this summer so far – and this deal hasn’t become an exception.

Financial details shared as Jota Silva signs for Nottingham Forest
The Reds have moved very quickly to complete this deal, with news of interest only being reported earlier this week.
It feels unlikely that Silva will be involved tomorrow night when Forest take on Villarreal with the player set to return to Portugal to bid his teammates goodbye.
As with any transfer, talk will always centre around the finances of the deal and whether or not a club has received value for money.
A source close to this transfer has now divulged some information exclusively to Nottingham Forest News.
It’s been explained that Forest have paid £5.9 million to sign Silva upfront with a series of add-ons included in the deal.
A further £4.2 million will be due to Vitoria with it claimed from our source that the add-ons are realistic ones.
Furthermore, his former club Casa Pia, are owed 40% of the transfer fee; 30% will be due now and 10% will come from any future sale.
It’s also claimed from our source that Vitoria are already convinced that Silva will rake in a huge transfer fee when Forest do eventually decide to sell him on.
Jota Silva will have to work hard for regular games at Forest
It has to be said that the finances look extremely good on this deal from a Forest perspective.
It’s a low-risk deal that will hopefully see Forest reap the rewards of some savvy recruitment and it will be exciting to see how he gets on.
Given the impact of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga last season, it’s hard to think Silva will get straight into the starting eleven.
However, competition for places is a good thing and that is perhaps one thing that Forest didn’t have in their squad last season.
It’s hard not to be complimentary of the club’s recruitment this summer and hopefully, things can click into place very quickly.
Silva appears delighted to be at Forest and that sort of appetite to want to be at the City Ground shouldn’t go unnoticed.
