A Nottingham Forest player is now set to remain at the City Ground after exit talks collapse.
The East Midlanders will have to trade in the transfer market like all Premier League clubs to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules.
They’ve already offloaded 14 players and were in talks to sell a 15th but it’s just emerged that a deal has collapsed, with the manager of the club admitting they couldn’t reach an agreement with Nottingham Forest.

Jonjo Shelvey to Caykur Rizespor deal off
Jonjo Shelvey, labelled as ‘special’ per the Daily Mail, spent last season on loan at Caykur Rizespor and the Turkish side club were in talks to resign him on a permanent deal this summer.
Rizespor were prepared to offer £3.4m for the 32-year-old but Forest held firm in their £5.1m – which has resulted in talks collapsing.
“It doesn’t look like he (Shelvey) will be returning to the club,” Rizespor boss Ilhan Palut said, via Sporx.
“We make our plans without him. I don’t think we could reach a common-ground. We have other plans.”
So, Forest will now have to look for other suitors as he’s evidently not part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
Nottingham Forest should reignite talks
If no other suitors come in for Shelvey, Forest should just reduce their asking price and accept the offer from Rizespor.
That way, it avoids the risk of losing him on a free transfer in a year’s time, which seems fairly likely at this stage unless perhaps a Championship club take him on a loan deal.
In other news, a Sky Sports journalist has just shared the latest update on Ramon Sosa after being heavily linked to Nottingham Forest.
