Nottingham Forest fans have seen six new players added to their ranks this season, but the fans are somewhat greedy, with a striker on their minds.
The Reds have Chris Wood – scorer of 14 Premier League goals last season – and Taiwo Awoniyi within their ranks at present.
However, Wood will turn 33 during the new season, whilst Awoniyi has a less than impressive injury record during his time at the City Ground.
With little in the way of a backup in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, Forest are now looking to add a talisman to their ranks ahead of the new campaign.
It’s been a long time coming but with the new season now just a week or so away, Forest have finally been linked with a striker.

Nottingham Forest want Santiago Gimenez
According to 1908 in Holland, Forest are going to make a concrete move this week to sign the Mexican talisman ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 23-year-old has been with Feyenoord since 2022 when he checked in from Cruz Azul.
Gimenez scored twice at the weekend as Feyenoord won the Johan Cruyff Sheild on penalties against PSV.
The 2023/24 campaign was a memorable one for the man with 29 caps for Mexico as he scored 26 goals and claimed eight assists from 41 appearances.
It’s claimed that PSV would want a sizeable sum should they look to sell the player and it’s not clear yet whether Gimenez would welcome an approach from Forest.
Feyenoord icon Mario Been called him ‘truly fantastic’ in September 2023 following a fine run of form for the Eredivisie outfit.
Gimenez would be quality signing for Forest
This is the sort of striker link that Forest fans would surely be able to get behind ahead of the new Premier League season.
Once again the club are going after a player with bags of potential and one with the potential to boast a huge amount of resale value.
At 23, Gimenez is set for a bright future and this is the sort of signing that would surely delight the Forest fan base.
The player will have signed for Feyenoord from Cruz Azul, viewing them as a stepping stone to one of the top five European leagues.
Now, with Forest set to come calling, it will be fascinating to see whether he’s willing to leave the Eredivisie to sign for a club that aren’t considered one of the biggest in the Premier League.
Gimenez would play lots of football at Forest and surely that will be a useful incentive for the player to sample a taste of the Premier League.
