Nottingham Forest are preparing for an opening Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday and it’s fair to say that Morgan Gibbs-White will be a main man again this season.

The gifted number 10 will start a third season at the City Ground looking to build on two extremely impressive campaigns on Trentside.

Forest took Gibbs-White from Wolves for an initial £25 million back in the summer of 2022 and he’s grown as a player at Forest.

He’s captained the side on several occasions with uncertainties over Joe Worrall over the last two seasons and it could be a role he does again during 2024/25.

Despite the 24-year-old’s clear talent, the Reds performer does have something that he’d love to work on this season.

Morgan Gibbs-White shares what he wants to improve this season

There isn’t much wrong with how Gibbs-White has performed in a Forest shirt in his two years at the club.

The attacking player has scored 11 times and registered 18 assists from 80 appearances, which in a struggling side isn’t a bad return.

Now, Gibbs-White has been quizzed on what he’d like to improve this season and he’s got one thing on his mind for 2024/25.

He told the Premier League on Instagram: “I feel like I get quite a lot of assists. Goals, I need to improve though so hopefully this season that can be improved.”

Goals will come from Gibbs-White under head coach

Gibbs-White and Nuno Espirito Santo go way back to when the player was coming through the ranks at Molineux.

The pair got along, although Gibbs-White was loaned out by Espirito Santo as the forward – then a teenager – tried to hone his skills.

Now, Espirito Santo has made the Forest number 10 his main man, choosing to build a team around him.

This season should be different for Forest. We should see the head coach really get his ideas across and a more attacking style should be evident.

That approach will suit Gibbs-White and hopefully, he can start to etch his name onto the score sheet more frequently and Forest can start to climb up the table.

The former England under-21 star is going to be seriously important this season and the more attack-minded the team plays, the more prolific Gibbs-White should become.
