Nottingham Forest face a fight to keep a number of their players this summer – and now Manchester United are showing a big interest in one of them.

The Reds have done some good business so far this summer. Six players have been signed, with Orel Mangala, Moussa Niakhate, and Odysseas Vlachodimos as the standout departures.

So far, the Reds have got through the summer without losing any of their big names – but it remains to be seen if that will still be the case at the end of the window.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo are the two most sought-after players but there are other quality players in the Forest squad now being looked at.

Manchester United make enquiry about Forest star Danilo

This doesn’t come as a surprise given just how well Danilo has performed since he swapped Palmeiras for Forest in a £16 million deal back in January 2023.

Now, according to TNT Sports journalist Rodrigo Fragoso, Manchester United have made an enquiry over the valuation of the Forest star.

It’s not clear what he’s valued at right now, although given that he’s only 23, has bags of potential and Premier League experience, it’s likely to be a huge fee that will tempt Forest.

Danilo was laid low with a hamstring problem in the early stages of last season but returned with a vengeance when Nuno Espirito Santo took over and helped Forest avoid relegation.

The midfielder has scored six times for Forest since arriving at the club and he’s also claimed four assists from his 49 appearances.

Steve Cooper landed Danilo and called him ‘exciting’ following a 1-1 draw over Wolves at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Forest must stand firm on valuation of Danilo

Although Forest have to recognise their position in the food chain compared to a club such as Manchester United, the Reds shouldn’t be willing to have their bellies tickled.

The Reds are clearly doing something right when it comes to recruitment if one of the biggest football clubs in world football are now asking questions about star players.

Danilo is a fantastic talent and Forest did well to snap him up for just £16 million and hand him the chance to express himself in the first team.

The valuation will hopefully be around the £50 million mark and Forest shouldn’t even think about lowering those demands – if that is the fee they’re looking for.

Danilo should be in line to start at the weekend against Bournemouth and if United wants to sign him then INEOS had better be prepared to dig deep into those long pockets of theirs.
