‘You can see’… Nuno Espirito Santo thinks one Nottingham Forest player will add something different this season

It’s been the longest – and most boring – saga of the summer but Ramon Sosa has officially signed terms at Nottingham Forest.

The Paraguayan trickster has arrived in Nottingham looking to adapt to the Premier League, with the 24-year-old starring at the recent Copa America.

Sosa has checked in for a fee in the region of £11 million and joining from Argentine top-flight outfit Talleres.

He typically operates on the flank but can do a job through the middle and that in itself gives Forest some options.

With the substitutions in yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth making a minimal impact, Sosa will definitely bring something to the squad.

What Nuno Espirito Santo has said about Ramon Sosa

Espirito Santo wasn’t too happy to settle for a point yesterday, with Forest dominating the first half against Bournemouth.

The Reds scored through Chris Wood but had to settle for a share of the spoils when Antoine Semenyo restored parity four minutes from time.

After the game, the head coach was quizzed on Sosa and he’s looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the squad.

The Portuguese boss told the official website: “He can bring us different things on the wing. He can play both sides and he’s a talented player.

“You can see from all the teams in the Premier League that players that come need some time, because like ourselves there is quality in the squad.

“He has to work really hard to get in the team, and we are here to support him.”

Sosa must get time to adapt but he should star for Forest

At 24, Sosa looks to have a nice profile in arriving at Forest and the transfer strategy looks to be spot on this summer.

The player isn’t considered a complete novice and last season in Argentina he scored seven goals and claimed six assists.

Sosa can provide an option on either flank or through the middle and having a young, hungry footballer sat in reserve can only bode well.

Paraguay disappointed at Copa America but Sosa caught the eye for a number of good performances – and he bagged himself a goal.

It looks as though the Reds have signed the Paraguayan at the right time and hopefully he can help Forest kick on this season.
