Nottingham Forest were indebted to Morgan Gibbs-White yesterday as the club claimed their maiden victory of the season.
The 24-year-old scored his first goal of the campaign when he prodded home in the 70th minute against Southampton.
Gibbs-White needs to add more goals to his game and getting off the mark in matchweek number two is ideal for him.
The Forest number 10 was once again in good form – if a little frustrating at times – and he’s striving to prove himself at a higher level on a consistent basis.
Gibbs-White is a popular player in the dressing room and once again he was the captain fantastic.

Morgan Gibbs-White gets praise from Forest stars
It’s no surprise that following his latest performance, Gibbs-White has come in for some praise on Instagram.
Elliot Anderson, Neco Williams and Jota Silva all placed wordless reactions to his posts on social media.
Callum Hudson-Odoi alluded to the fact that the player was in position at the back post to score his first of the season.
Gibbs-White is up and running for the campaign and now he will be hoping to really kick on and possibly enjoy an England call-up this season.
He does face stiff competition for that role but as a determined individual, he will hope to get the nod from Lee Carsley who managed him with the under-21 setup.
Gibbs-White receives praise from surprise player
One surprising post on his social media post came from his former Sheffield United teammate Oliver McBurnie.

He placed three flame emojis on his post and clearly he struck up quite a rapport with the Forest man.
The surprise comes that McBurnie was positive about Forest given what happened in the second leg of the play-off semi-final three seasons ago.
The striker is now at Las Palmas – alongside Scott McKenna – but clearly he’s still following the career of Gibbs-White very closely.
