Nottingham Forest defeated Southampton 1-0 at St Mary’s Stadium yesterday as the Reds kick-started their Premier League campaign.
Forest won the game courtesy of a goal from Morgan Gibbs-White in the 70th minute and he was once again the main main.
The Reds have now collected four points from their opening two games of the campaign and there is something to build on.
Nuno Espirito Santo was clearly delighted with the victory during Saturday’s win and he will hope to improve the club’s fortunes this season.
Forest finished in 17th place last season and Espirito Santo will hope for something a little bit better this season.

What Anthony Elanga did to infuriate Chris Wood as Forest win
Forest did claim all three points yesterday but ultimately there were a lot of missed chances from a Forest perspective.
The Reds will hope to improve on that as the season progresses and start putting teams to bed on a more frequent basis.
Yesterday, the Sky cameras showcased Wood look absolutely fuming with Elanga close to the end of the contest.
Throughout the game, Elanga got himself lots of space and after a few shots of his own, the former Manchester United man went on a mazy run again in the final 10 minutes.
Wood was praying that the ball would find him but instead of passing, Elanga chose to shoot on his own accord.
The Sky Sports footage showcased Wood screaming ‘Anthony’ at Elanga and he looked disgusted at his teammate.
Forest were ultimately able to hold on but on another day the team might not have been so lucky and thankfully, Elanga did regret his act of selfishness.
Wood can still bag goals this season
The 32-year-old will want to show he can still score goals, with Forest in the market for a new striker.
Had Elanga passed to him yesterday he would have had a tap-in to take his tally to two from two games.
Instead, he’s stuck on one and he will now be hoping that the transfer window doesn’t prove too detrimental to his own game time.
Forest are going to bring in a new striker but Wood will hope that he can retain his status as the number one centre-forward.
The Reds will want to be much more comfortable this season and hopefully, Elanga can start to supply Wood more often as the season progresses and the team can kick on as a result.
