Nottingham Forest are keen to add a striker to their ranks this summer and the search has now led the club to the Bundesliga.

The Reds need to ensure the squad is well-stocked ahead of the window closing and Nuno Espirito Santo is somewhat short in attack.

A move for Forest to sign Santiago Gimenez has collapsed and the club have now moved on to other targets with the deadline looming large.

Last night, Forest were beaten on penalties in the Carabao Cup by Newcastle and today the club’s focus will go straight back into transfers.

Nottingham Forest make another move for Omar Marmoush

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Reds have now made a third offer for the Eintracht Frankfurt talisman.

The Egyptian could be allowed to leave before tomorrow’s deadline but it feels unlikely that they will be easy to negotiate with.

It’s claimed by the transfer guru that Forest have offered £18-22 million at this stage but Frankfurt want closer to £25 million plus add-ons for the striker.

Plettenberg believes there is some ‘poker’ going on and has posted on X that Forest have now made a third bid for his signature.

Marmoush scored 17 goals last season for Frankfurt from 41 appearances, registering six assists for the club too.

The clock is ticking for Forest to sign Marmoush

The man with 29 caps for Egypt is a striker who has made a big impression and it feels as though a deal for him will be tough to complete.

Clubs know that Forest have money to spend on a striker after a long-standing interest in Gimenez and Eddie Nketiah.

As a result, there will be no desire for anyone to bend over backwards to accommodate Forest and the club will have to dig deep if they want a striker.

Marmoush does possess a lot of pace and perhaps he’d be ideal for running in behind trying to get on the end of through balls.

He’d represent a different option to the qualities that Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi bring to the table and it will be interesting to see if Forest can get this one over the line.
