Nottingham Forest are searching high and low for new players ahead of the transfer window slamming shut on Friday.
The Reds have managed to bring nine players to the club so far, with two of them – Marko Stamenic and David Carmo – heading straight out on loan to Olympiacos.
It’s been a case of quality over quantity this summer. All of the seven signings have an average age of around 24 and that can only bode well for the future and potential resale value.
One area of the squad that might need a strengthen is in goal. The news of a new one coming in at Forest just won’t go away and now another name has come to light ahead of the window slamming shut.

Nottingham Forest make shock move to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto
According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Forest are weighing up a move to bring Neto to the club from Bournemouth.
On the back of the Cherries signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Brazilian has been shoved down the pecking order at the Vitality Stadium.
As a result, the club might look to let him leave before the Friday deadline and ultimately Forest have now asked the question.
Neto arrived at Bournemouth in 2022 and has made 63 appearances for the Cherries, sleeping 13 clean sheets in the process.
Intriguingly, Forest want Neto despite the stopper making a howler against the Reds on the opening day of the campaign.
He spilt a tame Ryan Yates effort straight into the path of Chris Wood who duly obliged from close range to give Forest the lead.
Forest must avoid Neto signing
If ever there was one signing that could unravel all of Forest’s good work during the summer transfer window then this is it.
Neto is 35-years-old and he doesn’t represent a significant upgrade on either Matz Sels or Carlos Miguel.
The Reds have been linked with Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone this summer but those two are now going to Southampton and Wolves respectively.
Either of those two and there would have been an argument that Forest would be bolstering their goalkeeping ranks but Neto simply doesn’t do that.
Furthermore, Forest would have to pay a transfer fee for a goalkeeper out of contract in the summer and this doesn’t feel like value for money.
The Reds have bigger fish to fry than a goalkeeper. A striker is definitely the order of the day and perhaps now Forest need to park the search for a new goalkeeper.
