New Nottingham Forest signing James Ward-Prowse has spoken for the first time since joining the club on loan.

James Ward-Prowse was unveiled by Nottingham Forest after joining from Premier League rivals West Ham United on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Ward-Prowse, an 11-time England international, is considered a huge coup for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men and will provide some extra quality and experience at the City Ground.

The deal itself will be a straight loan with no option to buy and he moves just 12 months after signing for West Ham in a £30m transfer.

What James Ward-Prowse said after completing loan move

After Forest confirmed the signing of the 29-year-old, Ward-Prowse expressed his delight at securing the move.

He told Forest’s official club website: “I’m delighted to be here. When I knew I had the opportunity to join the Club and come and show what I can do, I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.

“Having played Nottingham Forest a few times, the atmosphere here is one of the best I’ve played in in the Premier League, so to now hopefully experience that week in, week out is something really special.”

When can James Ward-Prowse make Forest debut?

Due to the time the deal was completed, Ward-Prowse won’t be eligible to play against Wolves on Saturday.

Any new signings have to be registered by 12 pm on the last working day before the next round of fixtures in order to be eligible to play for their respective clubs.

This means that Forest fans and Ward-Prowse will have to wait until after the international break to see their new man in action.

His debut could come at Anfield when Forest travel to Merseyside to play Liverpool on 14 September.
