Nottingham Forest allowed a number of players to leave the City Ground during the summer transfer window, with over 20 leaving the club.
It was badly needed for Forest as the squad had become bloated during the first two seasons back in the Premier League.
Players were still heading out of the exit right up until the transfer deadline and hopefully, the club can continue to be prudent in the market in the future.
The goalkeeping situation was one that required a little bit of work on Trentside.
Odysseas Vlachodimos departed for Newcastle but it still left the club with three senior goalkeepers – which is probably too many.
With that in mind, it came as no surprise when the Matt Turner was shipped off to Crystal Palace on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day.
There, he will act as a backup to Dean Henderson and it would appear that Forest worked some magic to get Turner off the wage bill.

Forest-owned Matt Turner endures bittersweet week on international duty
The break didn’t get off to the best start for Turner, with Patrick Shulte getting the nod to start in goal against Canada.
NBC Sports actually spotted a positive about his performance that Forest fans will be well aware of Turner’s incapabilities to do.
They said about the stand-in goalkeeper: “Wasn’t going to stop either Canada goal, and made terrific stops. Was quietly terrific with the ball at his feet – 36 of 37 passes – and that may keep him in the position ahead of Matt Turner.”
However, Mauricio Pochettino did recall him to the starting eleven for his first game in charge against New Zealand and some positives were made about his performance.
Goal claimed: “Made some big, big saves when called upon. New Zealand had a few decent looks, but Turner was there to make sure they didn’t convert any. Nothing he could really do on the goal, either. It happens.”
Turner facing tricky spells for club and country after Forest exit
The goal which Turner conceded last night actually came courtesy of Ben Waine – a player currently on loan with League One outfit Mansfield Town.
That won’t have been in the script for the USMNT given that it came in injury time – but in fairness to the £10 million Turner that wasn’t through any wrongdoing of his.

Turner is facing a sticky period though. Okay, he’s signed for Palace but in reality, he’s not going to play any football for the club this season – unless Henderson gets injured.
With Pochettino busy trying to get his feet under the table, he will have a good look at all of the goalkeepers at his disposal and perhaps Turner isn’t guaranteed to keep the gloves.
Forest are wise to get rid of Turner and he never truly convinced Espirito Santo.
Hopefully, Forest can now move on from this chapter and be more meticulous when it comes to scouting goalkeepers in the future.
