Jason Lee seriously impressed with Nottingham Forest summer signing

Nottingham Forest enjoyed a transfer window that was far less chaotic than previous years in the Premier League this summer.

The Reds signed 11 new players with two of them – Marko Stamenic and David Carmo – immediately joining Olympiacos on a season-long loan.

Forest prioritised quality over quantity this summer and focused on adding energetic players with bags of potential who can reach their peak in the years to come.

The Reds have made a solid start to the season, collecting nine points from six games so far – including a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

Lots of the new players have so made positive impacts and it’s really encouraging to see what Nuno Espirito Santo can get out of this group of players.

Jason Lee hails one Nottingham Forest new signing

The Reds tasted defeat for the first time during 2024/25 when Fulham claimed a big three points at the City Ground on Saturday.

It proved a disappointing afternoon but afterwards, former striker Lee was on compere duties in the hospitality suites interviewing Elliot Anderson.

The player who signed for around £35 million from Newcastle has taken well to life playing regular football at Forest and was put up for an interview with the hospitality guests.

Clearly, he made an impact on Lee as afterwards he praised Anderson on Instagram for fronting up and speaking with such honesty.

He wrote: “Great catching up with Elliot Anderson after yesterday’s game vs Fulham.

“It wasn’t the result we wanted. But it’s been a very positive start to the new season. Elliot has settled in very well and I wish him all the very best with his Forest career.”

Anderson can star under Espirito Santo at Forest

At 21-years-old, there is a lot of potential with Anderson and he’s already occupied a number of positions at Forest.

He can operate in the centre of midfield, out wide and even as a number 10 – something which Espirito Santo will have to crack.

Anderson does feel like a very nice signing from a Forest perspective. Okay, £35 million sounds a lot but with the £20 million Forest got from Newcastle for Odysseas Vlachodimos, the deal is offset somewhat.

Forest have signed a player with bags of potential and it will be promising to watch him grow at the football club in the years to come.

It will be interesting to see where he does manage to nail down a place in the Forest team.

He will be desperate to become a master in one position and give himself every chance to grasp a shirt regularly without fear of someone grabbing it away from him.

Anderson was subbed early in the second half on Saturday and hopefully, it won’t be too long before we see him among the goals and assists.
