Nottingham Forest under-18s have kicked off their 2024/25 campaign in relatively convincing style with nine points from five games.

The Reds have an academy to be proud of with many players progressing through the academy to play Premier League football.

Brennan Johnson, Matty Cash, Oliver Burke and Jamaal Lascelles have all gone on to play top-flight action after starting out at Forest.

There are also other names who have been products of the academy at Forest, with Michael Dawson and Andy Reid two of the first ones to make waves in the game after leaving the City Ground.

Now, the class of 2024 are trying to force their way through the ranks at Forest and on Saturday, Leeds United were thrashed 4-1 by the Reds.

Nottingham Forest gem scores hat-trick during Under-18 mauling

Seeing any Forest team claim a win over Leeds at any level is quality and mildly amusing but this demolition was just incredible.

The Whites have struggled at under-18 level this season and Forest took full advantage of that.

Isaac Davies was the man of the moment with the midfielder scoring a devastating hat-trick to leave Leeds stunned.

Astonishingly, Davies was only introduced from the bench at half-time and replaced Zyan Blake in a wide position.

He scored his first goal in the 57th minute and then followed that up with strikes in the 86th and 90th minutes of the contest to give Forest a huge win.

The result sees the Reds climb to sixth in the Premier League under-18 table with Southampton to come next in the under-18 Premier League Cup competition.

Who is Forest gem Isaac Davies?

This performance was just the tonic for a player who Forest have already moved to tie to a professional contract.

The ink is barely dry on that contract with the decision made last month and Davies is keen to repay the faith shown in him by the coaches at Forest.

Davies is a Wales under-18 international and normally plays in midfield – although as Saturday proved he can also play further forward.

When he signed his deal the Head of Academy Chris McGuane said: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to Isaac and his family having agreed on a professional contract on his 17th birthday.

“Isaac is aware that this is the next step in his journey to fulfil his potential as a person and we are looking forward to working with him to see him further develop as a player.”

Davies will now hope that being on the bench is a thing of the past and the Welsh performer will hope to nail down a place at under-18 level for the remainder of the campaign.
