Murillo was always going to attract interest from a club like Chelsea at some stage, and Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on his situation at Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest‘s recruitment has been fantastic over the past year or so, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi and more now-established stars at the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo has had a part to play in that recently, but it was Steve Cooper who brought Murillo to the club last summer.
The Brazilian has been a revelation since moving to Forest, establishing himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League in the process.
However, having such a top-level player does have its negatives, as Chelsea are now looking to potentially sign Murillo in the near future.
Interestingly, Fabrizio Romano has now come out with an update on the rumours.

Murillo transfer rumours addressed by Fabrizio Romano
Murillo has already been labelled as one of the most promising players in Europe.
He’s been an unmovable force at the back at times, with his big frame and incredible strength often proving too much for opposition strikers.
Interestingly, the rumours involving Chelsea made their way to Fabrizio Romano, who felt as if he needed to provide an update on the situation.
Romano, when speaking on behalf of Caught Offside, stated that Murillo will be expensive for any club.
“So guys, I’ve seen the rumours about Murillo and Chelsea, and what I can say is that Chelsea are following several players in the centre-back position but no talks taking place yet.
There are so many links but there’s nothing concrete or really advanced now.
Also, Murillo would be very expensive for any club as when Juventus thought about him last summer, Nottingham Forest didn’t want to open the doors for him to leave.”
Is it worth selling Murillo?
Murillo joined Nottingham Forest for around £15 million last year.
The fee Nottingham Forest were quoting in the summer was believed to be £70 million, which would see Evangelos Marinakis pocket a significant amount of profit.
It’s very much in the player and Forest’s hands, but we know Chelsea are big spenders, so there is the opportunity to strengthen the whole squad with a fee like that.
His importance at the club cannot be understated, but there’s no denying he deserves to be at the top level.
