Ryan Yates has been one of the standout performers for Nottingham Forest this season, and he’s now been given a new nickname by Don Hutchinson.
Nottingham Forest have relied heavily on Ryan Yates this season and he’s certainly delivered.
He is leading from the front as a constant pest for the opposition, which is something that Enzo Fernandez found out about last time out against Chelsea.
Yates has even been a big help off the field, helping Elliot Anderson settle into life at the City Ground after joining from Newcastle United in the summer.
His rise from the academy at Nottingham Forest has even led to the club starting up a new program based off finding the next Ryan Yates.
Now, he’s been given a new nickname by Don Hutchinson after his rise in form.

Don Hutchinson gives Ryan Yates a new nickname
David Prutton recently said Yates is one of the players he can see really cares at Nottingham Forest, and he couldn’t be more right.
Interestingly, Don Hutchinson has been speaking to Ryan Yates on a podcast and even came up with a new nickname for him moving forward.
Talking to the Nottingham Forest star on BBC Radio 5 Live with Kevin Nolan, Hutchinson decided to call him a cockroach due to him being a constant pest.
Don Hutchison: “So, basically, what you are telling us is as long as they don’t bring in any midfield players in, you are good?”
Ryan Yates: “They have brought in a few, I will tell you that.”
Kevin Nolan: “To be fair, though, they have brought in a few, and he keeps knocking them away, mate, he keeps knocking them away, to be fair.”
Don Hutchison: “Cockroach, that’s what you should be nicknamed as. Cockroach, that’s what you should be named as. Keeps seeing them off.”

Interestingly, prior to the Liverpool clash, Ryan Yates waited for every Nottingham Forest player in the tunnel and gave them a rallying cry, and it definitely worked.
The Reds ended up getting the better of Liverpool thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi.
He’s come on leaps and bounds at Forest over the past year or so and is just as important as the likes of Murillo and Chris Wood, with his duties off the field often going unseen.
