Nottingham Forest defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at the City Ground last night and it proved a really bad night for Dean Henderson.
The man who starred on loan at Forest was responsible for the goal conceded by the Eagles as the Reds claimed a huge win.
Forest climbed to eighth in the Premier League with a victory for the first time on home soil during the 2024/25 campaign.
Chris Wood scored his fifth goal in eight matches for the Reds and he’s closing in on the all-time goalscoring record for Forest in the Premier League.
Wood got some praise from Ally McCoist after the game and there were some other top performers too.
Matz Sels was another player in top form making seven saves and sadly for Henderson, he could join him by claiming a clean sheet.
Henderson cut a forlorn figure at full-time and clearly recognised that he’d cost his team the chance to take anything from the game.

What Dean Henderson did at full-time vs Forest
The goalkeeper didn’t stick around to take too many sympathy handshakes from his teammates and instead headed towards the travelling fans.
The ardent souls had made the daunting trip on a Monday night to essentially see Henderson rob the Eagles of a chance to claim any points.
His error was out of character and he has come up trumps for Palace following his permanent move from Manchester United.
Henderson applauded Sels before shaking his hand and then immediately headed over to the Palace fan base with his arms aloft seemingly in an apologetic fashion.
He then thumped the badge on his chest before stomping away from his teammates and heading straight down the tunnel whilst the other players applauded the fans.
Henderson wasn’t keen to stick around and the game at the City Ground will be one he’s keen to forget quickly.
Henderson would have been quality for Forest
Much like the deal that Forest wanted to do for James Garner, Manchester United messed around with Henderson too much.
Forest had a decision to make in the summer of 2023 and ultimately the club weren’t convinced the player was over the thigh injury he suffered at the City Ground.
Despite his error last night, Henderson would have been a huge upgrade on the money that Forest plunged on Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos.
The player made an England appearance last week and he’s still a very good goalkeeper with a bright future ahead of him despite his latest mistake.
Henderson did a solid job during his time at Forest and he was a key player during the survival mission of 2022/23.
Last night he helped Forest claim a huge three points and Palace will be hoping that error doesn’t knock his confidence.
