Nottingham Forest defeated Leicester City 3-1 on Friday night to continue their impressive start to the Premier League campaign.

Chris Wood scored two more goals to take his tally to seven for the 2024/25 season, with Ryan Yates also on the score sheet.

There were some fine displays at the King Power Stadium, with Gary Neville singling out Elliot Anderson for praise as Forest claimed the East Midlands bragging rights.

Forest are flying at the moment and sit seventh in the Premier League table. On Saturday, West Ham arrive on Trentside with the Reds looking for a third win in succession.

Steve Nicol hails ‘dynamite’ Nottingham Forest star

The Reds won pretty comfortably at the King Power Stadium on Friday as a dominant second-half display earned Forest a big three points.

One player who was perhaps overlooked for his performance during the game was Callum Hudson-Odoi and he was very unlucky not to score.

He forced a good save out of Mads Hermansen in the first half and then rattled the post in the second with a trademark effort that came narrowly close.

Steve Nicol was very impressed with his performance and has claimed that he’s enjoyed watching the winger all season for Forest.

He told ESPN FC: “They’ve not got players going forward like Callum Hudson-Odoi who have just been dynamite. He’s really good on the counter-attack and that’s what it’s all about for them.”

Hudson-Odoi needs run of games to get going again

Last season, Hudson-Odoi scored eight goals for Forest but after nine appearances this season, he’s managed just a single strike to his name.

That was a special one for Hudson-Odoi as he scored the winner against Liverpool at Anfield and now he needs a run of games in the team.

Since a 1-0 defeat to Fulham, Nuno Espirito Santo has given Hudson-Odoi a small chance to get going and he looked far more like his usual self against Leicester.

This weekend sees Forest face West Ham and with them struggling for some consistency this season so far, it’d be wise to keep Hudson-Odoi in the team.
