Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has today delivered his reaction to the ongoing news at Manchester United.
The Red Devils parted with Erik ten Hag following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United last weekend to end a two-year tenure.
Ten Hag won both domestic cups with United but his performances in the Premier League and in Europe were way below par.
Forest managed to beat United under Ten Hag last season, securing a 2-1 win at the City Ground courtesy of goals from Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Football management can be a fickle career – as Espirito Santo knows all too well – and now the Forest man has been quizzed on Ten Hag’s exit.

The Forest boss knows all about setbacks after his ill-fated spell with Tottenham but he’s managed to bounce back.
Espirito Santo arrived at Forest with a bit of a point to prove and with the Reds seventh in the Premier League table he’s doing great things on Trentside.
Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim is the frontrunner for the job and Espirito Santo was quizzed on the potential appointment in his press conference today.
He told the Forest official YouTube channel: “I don’t know if it’s 100 per cent sure so I will not go much further on that first. If it really happens, welcome to the Premier League, I will wish him all the best.
“The same to Erik ten Hag, wish him all the best for his career. We only have to think about Manchester United, I think it’s one month from now so let’s leave it this way.”
When Nottingham Forest play Manchester United in 2024/25
Espirito Santo is right. Forest don’t have to worry about Manchester United for at least another month.
The first visit between the two teams will come on Saturday 7th December when Forest travel to Old Trafford for a Sky Sports clash.
Forest gave a good account of themselves last season in that fixture, leading 2-0 before having Joe Worrall sent off and succumbing to a 3-2 defeat.

This season’s Forest are a different animal though and a game against United will be one that the Reds will take belief into.
The Red Devils will come to Forest in April for a clash under the floodlights in midweek and by then the new manager will have his feet under the table.
Whether that man is Amorim remains to be seen and United’s next appointment looks like a big one for the new owners.
