Nottingham Forest to battle Tottenham and Newcastle for ‘monster’ player

Nottingham Forest have set their sights on improvements, as reports suggest the Reds have joined the race for a striker signing in 2025.

Nuno Espirito Santo has already spoke about how he’s happy with his current squad at Nottingham Forest, but that’s not to say there won’t be any additions.

The Reds are one injury away in the striker department from being really stretched, so that’s naturally a position they could look at.

However, it’s unlikely that any striker who comes in will start ahead of Chris Wood, which could mean that a lot of potential signings are put off by a backseat role.

Nevertheless, it looks as if Nottingham Forest do have their eyes on someone heading into 2025, and it’s quite a well-known player in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest join the race to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who was lauded as a ‘monster’, has had a season to forget so far at Everton, scoring just two goals in 13 games, which is nothing compared to the nine scored by Chris Wood.

He’s been lacking in confidence and quality since suffering a number of injuries at Goodison Park, so could be seen as a risky signing.

However, it would be on a free as he’s set to leave Everton in the summer.

According to the Spanish media, as per Caught Offside, Nottingham Forest are in the race to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer.

However, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested.

Pep Guardiola speaks about Nottingham Forest ahead of the Manchester City clash

Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in world football, and he’s been speaking about Nottingham Forest heading into today’s encounter.

He even compared them to Brighton.

“Strong physicality, a good manager, good experience, like Brighton and other teams. Like I said before, the middle class, they’ve raised a lot, and it’s not just one, two or three games, there’s already been a lot of games played in the Premier League. And they’re in top positions, so that means they’re good.”

Praise from Guardiola shows how far Nottingham Forest have come this season.
