Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa on Saturday in a contest that saw the Reds climb to fourth place in the Premier League table.
With the Reds having beaten Manchester United in the game previous, it was vital that it didn’t become a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show.
Goals from Nikola Milenkovic and a late winner from Anthony Elanga saw Jhon Duran’s goal pale into insignificance and kept Forest above Villa.
The City Ground contest didn’t go without controversy and Dermot Gallagher cleared up one Forest incident on Ref Watch yesterday.
Despite Forest being robbed of a goal by the VAR during Saturday’s game, it was Villa who felt most aggrieved – but perhaps the home side should have gone to town instead.
Some eagle-eyed supporters have spotted an incident that didn’t go Forest’s way when Emiliano Martinez took matters into his own hands – literally – with regards to marking Nicolas Dominguez.

Forest fans rage at one decision during win over Aston Villa
There is some footage spotted that clearly shows Dominguez being grabbed by Martinez as the ball is swung into the box by Elliot Anderson.
Another disgruntled Forest fan said: “Absolute joke. VAR is only fit for the bin.”
Another was a little more philosophical and said: “Doesn’t matter, Forest won.”
Finally, another fan said: “He ain’t wrong. Called it live at the time.”
Forest taking care of business on the pitch this season
Okay, the evidence looks pretty conclusive that Forest should have had a penalty but it really doesn’t matter.
Thankfully, Forest have moved on from being the whinging club that seemingly rattled everyone at the PGMOL last season.
The Reds have to maintain their focus on football and take control of the things that ultimately the club are able to control and that isn’t match officials.
Dominguez should have had a penalty looking at this footage but by the letter of the law, Villa perhaps should have done for a pull from Anderson on Morgan Rogers.
Right now, it really doesn’t matter and hopefully, Forest can move forward and keep on getting a rub of the green when it comes to key decisions.
