Nottingham Forest did a lot of positive business during the summer transfer window both when it came to incoming and outgoing situations.
The Reds managed to sign 11 new players during the transfer window, with two of those – David Carmo and Marko Stamenic – heading to Olympiacos on loan for the season.
In terms of players departing, over 20 players were shifted by Forest in the summer and clearing the decks was definitely the order of the day as far as the football club was concerned.
Forest are fourth in the Premier League after beating Brentford on Saturday. Nuno Espirito Santo was praised by Brian Laws afterwards and things are looking up ahead of January.
Now, with the window just days away, it would appear as though one player could soon be heading back to the City Ground from the club he joined on loan in the summer.

Preston set to send Josh Bowler back to Nottingham Forest
According to the Lancashire Post, the end could be in sight for Bowler at Preston as Paul Heckingbottom looks to try and create room in his squad for new recruits.
Things haven’t really worked out for Bowler at Preston and he’s failed to register a goal contribution in nine appearances this season.
The 25-year-old is now set to be sent back to Forest and that leaves him with a bit of a quandary as he will want to play football somewhere for the remainder of the season.
Bowler started a 1-0 win for Preston over Cardiff earlier this month but on Saturday against QPR he wasn’t even included in the squad.
Clearly, Heckingbottom isn’t overly struck on the winger and a return to Forest now looks to be in the offing.
Forest have to find another club for Bowler
On the face of things, it always felt like a strange signing when Forest plucked Bowler from Blackpool shortly after promotion.
It always felt like a signing made in the event of Forest suffering an immediate relegation back to the EFL, with Bowler a proven player at that level.
For whatever reason, however, he just hasn’t been able to get going during his loan spells away from Forest and that needs to change in January.
Forest have to identify the right club for Bowler to move to on a temporary basis with the hope that he might finally head out and prompt a club to buy him permanently next summer.
