Nottingham Forest have been working tirelessly for around a month to try and get another player through the door.
The Reds have been linked with a number of players. Yoane Wissa was the number one target for Forest but he doesn’t look obtainable during the current transfer window.
Forest have also been linked with Wolves star Matheus Cunha. That one is now out of the question with the Brazilian pledging his allegiance to the Molineux club by signing a new contract.
Forest allowed James Ward-Prowse to return to West Ham early this morning. He’s only made 10 appearances in the first half of the campaign and wasn’t even on the bench on Saturday.

Rob Dorsett delivers exciting update on Nottingham Forest
The Sky Sports reporter is the man on the ground at the City Ground ready for some deadline day deals taking place. Right now, it still feels unlikely but all is not lost just yet.
Dorsett claims that Forest are still actively trying to bolster their ranks with either a new striker or a quick winger before things grind to a halt until the summer later tonight.
It now remains to be seen whether any new names will emerge ahead of the deadline. With Nuno Espirito Santo and his squad in Dubai for warm weather training, however, it still feels rather unlikely.
Forest boss Espirito Santo has claimed he’s happy with his squad. He’s always preferred working with a smaller group of players and that probably does rule out any further links coming to fruition.
New striker or winger shouldn’t be a panic buy
It’s great that Forest are still looking but they can’t simply go and sign anyone just for the sake of it. That is what the Forest of old would have done and ultimately, Marinakis isn’t about that these days.
Still, if a new player could be identified before tonight’s deadline. The Reds have had some exciting links this window and given how well the recruitment team did in the summer, they will be trusted to get things right.
Forest have a very settled squad and quite frankly, it’s rare that the team in third place buys any players during a month that is notoriously difficult to buy in.
Espirito Santo is doing a wonderful job. With that in mind, it’s vital that nobody is added for the sake of it and that any player who is added can immediately add value.
